EAA Chapter 5 offers Summer Youth Aviation Camp!
June 17 through June 21 9am – 3pm
The members of the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) Chapter 5 are hosting a week-long day Summer Youth Aviation Camp for students in middle school (grades 6 through 9) who are interested in flying.
The summer camp will be held at the Geauga County Airport in Hangar 3 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and is designed for kids with a real interest in AVIATION! Students will be given an opportunity to take a ride in an airplane (parental permission given and weather permitting); will actively participate in learning about aerodynamics, parts of a plane, flight operations, careers in aviation; will develop skills in map reading, riveting woodworking, & building and will be given opportunities to take tours of real airplanes and helicopters at the airport. There will be daily activities such as glider flying contests & scientific experimentation, as well as recreational fun activities. Space is limited to 18 students to allow for more hands-on opportunities. Registration forms and $100 fee due by Wednesday, May 10th.
