11th Annual Cops Ride

On Sunday June 30, 2019, the “11th Annual Cops Ride” Ceremony will be held at 10:30 AM at the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial located at the corner of West 3rd and Lakeside, with Monica Robins of WKYC as the Master of Ceremonies. The Cops Ride will honor and remember the following four Ohio’s Fallen Officers.

Officer Eric Joseph Joering – Westerville Police Department- EOW February 10, 2018

Officer Anthony Pasquale Morelli-  Westerville Police Department- EOW February 10, 2018

Officer Mathew James Mazany- Mentor Police Department- EOW June 24, 2018

Officer Vu X. Nguyen- Cleveland Police Department- EOW July 6, 2018

The 10:30 AM Ceremony is open to the “public” and will honor and remember our nations One Hundred and Sixty-Three (163) Fallen Law Enforcement Officers from calendar year 2018. Speakers include Joe Manion President of the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Society and Ohio State Representative Tom F. Patton, whose son, Cleveland Heights Officer Thomas F Patton II, suffered a fatal heart attack while chasing a suspect on March 13, 2010. The morning of our 2018 COPS RIDE, Mentor Officer Mazany was killed by a hit skip driver.

John “KIKS” Kikol, President and ride organizer, anticipates that an estimated five hundred (500) motorcyclists will attend the 10:30 AM Ceremony and then join in a processional ride at 11:00 AM beginning at West 3rd and Lakeside and eastward to South East Harley Davidson in Bedford Heights Ohio for food and entertainment.

Tickets are still available at Lake Erie Harley Davidson Avon, Rock N Roll City Harley Davidson Cleveland, Western Reserve Harley Davidson Mentor, South East Harley Davidson Bedford Hts, A&S Cycle North Royalton and Stinger Harley Davidson Medina.  Riders and passengers can also register downtown the morning of the June 30th Ceremony and Ride beginning at 9:00 AM till 10:15 AM. The cost is $25 per person.  If you register before Sunday June 9th you will receive a free 2019 Cops Ride tee shirt with the following saying “ Police leave THEIR family to protect YOUR family”.

The net proceeds from the 11th Annual Cops Ride will be divided between the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Society (www.policememorialsociety.org) and Ohio COPS (www.ohiocops.org).
