In celebration of March being Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, the Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (GCBDD) invites community members to its free community carnival on March 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This annual carnival is complete with free food, games and prizes. The event will be held at the Metzenbaum Center located at 8200 Cedar Road in Chesterland.
“We encourage all of our community members to come out and enjoy this free event,” said GCBDD Superintendent Don Rice. “Like every year, we are gearing up for a fun event for the whole family.”
Food options include hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks. Carnival favorites like popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones will also be available.
There will be more than 40 different games available for attendees to play, including traditional carnival games like darts, balloon break and the milk bottle knock down. With some luck, participants will receive tickets for the games they win, which they can exchange for a prize of their choice.
GCBDD is in need of volunteers to help facilitate the event. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Janice Chesnes, community connections coordinator, at 440-729-9406, ext. 1512 or [email protected].
