The Lake County General Health District will be offering a Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone) clinic for all community members on December 12th at 5:00 p.m. The clinic is available to anyone who is interested in obtaining the knowledge and skills to recognize an overdose and use the lifesaving medication Naloxone (Narcan). Research shows that community distribution of naloxone is effective in reversing overdoses and lowering unintentional overdose death rates, and economic models have concluded that it is a cost-effective prevention strategy. The Lake County General Health District receives funding through The Ohio Department of Health, as well as The United Way of Lake County in order to provide the community with this medication. Additional support is provided through private donations.
The Project DAWN clinic will take place at the Lake County General Health District, located at 5966 Heisley Road in Mentor, Ohio. If you wish to register or have any questions about the clinic, please contact Haley R. at (440) 350-2844. Walk-ins are also welcome.
